He clarified that safety measures would be in place to keep the server IP secure. Had plans to have a guest join the server as part of his series too. Guude released his episode with top donor on 3 March 2015, featuring the two of them building a hospital that CH33ZY had designed beforehand. Mentioned in March 2016 that he were interested in inviting viewers to play on the server during their 'Fancy Fridays' livestreams. World The first major community area constructed was Spawn Town, located at the world spawn.
After two weeks, development was to begin on four themed towns, one in each corner of the map. The themes were redstone, farming, minigames , and shopping. Sevadus published, a Twitter account that regularly posted how large the world border had grown to, though the account was not linked to the server itself, and it often became unsynchronized. Revealed that the script he ran each day to expand the world border was named 'Desmond', a reference to the character of the same name.
With construction on the four themed towns underway, the group decided to slow the world border to half its original pace (now expanding only 5 blocks every day) in August 2014. Some time in October the group decided to no longer have annual map resets.
World spawn was moved to Market Land in November 2014 in an attempt to counteract how laggy Spawn Town had become. The event signified the world border being disabled.
As part of the website update, the and overviewer map have been displayed on since 10 November 2014. Found the server's first later the same month while he was caving and exploring. And built an enderman farm the following day, while the was still alive. The occurred as a group of 11 participants, with videos being released on 15 December 2014. As of November 2013, the only members given the ' status on the server are, and. Robert Meyers had 5 donations (totaling $2500) read aloud during the livestream; two $1,000 donations during UHC #ForTheKids (read during Mario Kart 8), $100 during speedruns, $100 during Garry's Mod, and $300 also during Garry's Mod. Premium Minecraft Entertainment Guude Boulderfist, Minecraft Let's Play sensation, made a Minecraft survival multiplayer server in 2010 called 'Mindcrack'. He summoned forth the greatest minds of Minecraft Let's Play, such as, DocM77, BDouble0100, and many more. The invite-only server has spawned many Let's Plays from most of its residents, spawning prank wars and competitions, such as the Ultra Hardcore series. A separate, modded Mindcrack server has also been created using the Feed the Beast modpack for Minecraft. There are currently 24 active members on the server. BdoubleO. BlameTheController.
Generikb. paulsoaresjr. Shreeyam.
thejims There is. Based on them with contribution from the. Which has since announced it's shutting down on an undetermined date. The operators stated that the costs of running the server are too high and there's not enough of a userbase to justify continuing. Baj, one of the few Mindcrackers who actually played on the server, stated afterwards that the server took a huge hit after Guude and Rob's friendship went south and Rob (rightfully) didn't want his creations on a Mindcrack-branded server any longer. A Minecraft modpack for them by the Feed The Beast team. An official Mindcrack for all things Mindcrack.: Almost all the 'crackers count:.
Vechs and bats deserve a special mention, though. MC and Nintendo. Kurt and astronomy.: Vechs again. /: Many members were viewers of other Mindcrackers before starting their own.: Any youtuber who gets on can expect a substantial boost in subscribers. Conversely, if a youtuber with a large number of subscribers joins the server, all of the existing members can expect a boost in subscribers.: Baj, Avidya, PSJ. Although they aren't part of the server, Dadbee and WesWilson also count.: self-appointed image by Anderzel.: Quite a few of them are.
Notably, BDoubleO, GenerikB, MCGamer. And Nebris when he wants to.: Pyro during Trouble In Terrorist Town. Seems to enjoy, often throwing props at people and/or shooting them just enough to annoy them, but not enough to kill them.: Many Mindcrackers have an intro/outro song associated with them. Guude has his 'You're Watching Guude Boulderfist' intro theme made by Bdubs.
SethBling has 'Cipher' by Kevin Macleod. OMGchad has 'Virtual is Where We Live' by Approaching Nirvana. Aureylian has 'Pink Glitter Unicorns Pooping Rainbows' by Approaching Nirvana. BTC has the appropriately-titled 'Blame the Controller' by OneSProductions.
Zisteau has three; 'Bad Ideas (clean)' by Kevin Macleod for his Mindcrack season 3 videos, 'Bits with Byte' by 8 Bit Weapon for his season 4 videos, and 'If you don't know what to do just steal the amen break' by C418 for his season 5 videos. Arkas has intro/outro songs made by himself for his Mindcrack season 4 videos, and 'You're The Fool (2014 Remaster)' by Slynk for season 5 videos. Exploited by Team Canada in their prank on him.
Kurt has a tendency towards this as well in group settings. Combining the two into Team Fighting Mongooses in UHC season 12 leads to videos littered with (generally brief) pauses.: Pause with pretty much everyone. Especially Guude in the various and Mario Kart 8 collabs as of late.: MC's 'assassination' of the B-Team. Beef sees through it instantaneously.: Don't touch any Lapis belonging to if you want to live.
People requesting to join the server. Bdubs does not like comparisons being made between his Mindcrack logo in the Town Hall and a baked potato on a stick.
Killing a bat in front of Vechs may have a similar result.: Anderz saves Doc from an infinite loop of death. And then immediately gets killed by a slime.: The B Team accuses Etho of this, obviously it was a joke and not meant to be taken seriously.: In episode 10 of Paul Soares Jr's Mindcrack season 4 Let's Play, he attempts to place an anvil, which he uses to name Ferris Mueller, on a fence and accidentally places it 3 blocks away on the ground. In episode 57 after the death of Ferris Mueller, Paul tries to place a torch on Ferris's gravestone and accidentally places it on the ground three blocks away. In episode 151 of his main Mindcrack series, Etho starts the episode worried about creepers, and one appears right before his very eyes.
The episode ends off with 'Oh! More creepers.' .: The B Team try to bribe Baj to find in their favor in the trial; this results in him returning the bribe and adding attempted bribery to the list of charges.: Shree, a previous member of the Mindcrack server who left because he got burnt out of the game, to build his UHC monument statue with Guude. He later returned as a VIP guest in Season 5.: How many members of the server view Team Canada.: The Thumbnails of Zisteau's Mindcrack videos are often clues as to what his next prank will be.
The rainbow of colors from episodes 1-26 relate to him building a rainbow in Pause's nether track. The random objects from episodes 27-35 are all materials he uses when turning VintageBeef's castle into Candyland. The various pictures of eyes from episodes 39-47 are all references to the spider eyes he uses in his prank on Guude. Besides this, Etho's anti-rain setup from the Feed the Beast series gives Generik B a head start in the B-Team's Emerald Wars.: Zisteau let one out at the tail end of a.: Team B try to bribe with 31 blocks of Lapis Lazuli, which represents approximately 30 minutes worth of mining on his part.: The sever-wide trial of the B Team for stealing TNT from Etho.: Pause's solution to Generik's Saw-esque prank.: Several incidents of the prank wars became this. blocked Guude's safe fall, killing him the next time he used it. In retribution Guude covered Beef's entire castle with vines. Sounds harmless enough, until you remember that most of the vines must be individually whacked off the walls.
Guude trapped Zisteau in an obsidian box. In revenge Zisteau turned Guude's house into a spider-cube made of chests filled with over ten thousand spider eyes. Paul blew up GenerikB's RV.
In return, Generik covered Paul's house in a mountain of stone taller than the mountain the house was built under.: Team America. Your mileage may vary on the flavor.: Nebris' house and both of Etho's bases.: While not, the B-Team and Etho agree to temporarily put their feud behind them in order to fight the Wither(s) as a group. Zisteau allies himself with his sworn enemies, Team Canada, to pull off an enormous prank against Guude.: A running gag on the server is that no one can remember Mhykol's name. The gag culminates in Team Canada pulling a publicity stunt on Mhykol.: As an April Fools' Joke,.: Doesn't lead to outright murder, but Team B place a bomb in base along with a message instructing him to 'keep his big mouth shut', as he's the primary witness to their TNT heist. The other witness, Thejims, gets a horse head over his bed which will.: The Nether Hub, which connects to everyone's houses.: Zisteau, to Etho, somehow.: Subverted with the end of the trial; Baj okays some, but activates the gallows before anything can be said.: Noah and his children.: Pause can 'control' the weather his rain dances.: Every time Kurt fell to his death clearing out the missile silo, Beef replied with. As a more meta example, during group calls, someone says something that could be perceived as dirty, someone will inevitably say 'Secret Saturday'.
No-one can remember Mhykol's name. For a long time, 'Potato on a stick'.: Used by Generik when he forces Pause to choose between Millbee or Beef.
Or he could save both, but lose a ton of valuable items. Ultimately, Pause, but accidentally kills Millbee while trying to free him.: What the B-Team seems to be evolving into, what with the.: After Team Canada takes advantage of 's in their prank, he completely remakes Pause's nether track, changing it from a boring tunnel into a huge line with a rainbow and 8 Zisteau Faces. Pause was ecstatic. Zisteau then created a life-sized version of 'Candyland' for Beef.
You could feel a tinge of sadness in Beef's voice when he expressed his need of tearing it down.: Etho got his base 'cleaned' up by Zisteau. It's very nice and tidy, but, nevertheless, Etho didn't like it. Etho created an exact replica of a Minecraft village underwater near Vintage Beef's base. Beef not only loved it so much he refused to even consider it a prank, but he later stated his intention to move into the underwater village.: After pranking Guude, Zisteau was planning to retire from the prank wars, but Team Canada decided to give him a retirement gift.: In the court case between Etho and Team B, Pause, a lawyer for Team B, decides his membership of team Canada is stronger than his connections with Team B.: In Season 5, Zisteau is given a perfect opportunity to strike down Guude. Guude is working at a workbench, distracted, and Zisteau charges at him from behind.
After getting hit once, Guude immediately realizes what is happening, dodges Zisteau's next attack, draws his own weapon, and then proceeds to trounce him.: Wolves are often employed by contestants to aid in combat. Notable examples include Season 6, where BDoubleO is killed when he confuses Pause's wolf for his own, the finale of Season 4B, during which two players manage to defeat four, with the help of about fifteen wolves, Season 7, when Nebris and Kurt fight with about a dozen wolves each, with Nebris winning thanks to a bucket of lava and Season 3, in which Kurt's wolf saves his life during a fight against Pause.
Taken in Season 11 by Guude, who has amassed a pack of at least 30 wolves by episode 8. The wolf pack has been named 'Guude's Army.' They were very effective against Anderzel, not so much against Etho.: Season 14, Episode 9: Kurt and Mhykol, having come up from underground and noticing Pause and Arkas killing off MC and Nebris, decide to rush Pause and Arkas' tower.
After running into some bad terrain and getting surrounded by mobs, they immediately call off the attack and head back underground.: Despite having a wolf companion in his single-player series, Far Lands or Bust, Kurt often has bad luck with them in Ultra Hardcore. Season 6 marks the third consecutive season in which he was killed by a wolf, and the second in which he was killed by his own wolf.: Etho feels really bad and repeatedly apologizes while attacking Kurt in Season 8, but it doesn't make the battle any less harsh. Bdubs to Kurt in Season 11.: In Season 10, GenerikB's head brings nothing but bad luck to anyone who holds it.
The curse returns at the end of Season 11.: Rain starts up halfway through the final battle of season 3. Unlike most instances, this actually decides the outcome as it foils Kurt's attempt to burn down the forest Guude is hiding in.: Guude in season 4a, saving a terrified Pause from Kurt just when Kurt was about to catch up and slaughter him. It wasn't, however, enough for them to win. Kurt's wolf also counts from season 3, charging in and saving him when Pause appears to have all but won.: lets out a couple of these when he wins season 6.
Kurt also lets one off when his dog saves him in season 3. Millbee, season 11, after killing Pak.: Kurt has spectacularly bad luck, with horribly unfair and/or glitchy deaths being the rule rather than the exception for him.: Contestants will often wander for days trying to find another contestant to get into a fight with.: Due to the nature of both streaming live for 3-6 hours, the monotony of performing the minimum actions to get started in Minecraft and the long periods of time spent wandering the empty landscape looking for people to kill, the UHC series often fall into this as the Players try to keep up a running commentary.
Etho seems to do it for his own amusement - at the very beginning of Season 10, before the game had even started, he brightly announced to the audience and his fellow players: 'I'm in a tree!' .: Millbee picks up some melons while traversing through the jungle in Season 19. He meets up with Anderzel and Avidya afterwards, who mention that they could make health potions if they got melons.: In Season 14 with the Mumble plugin, Anderzel had a lot of trouble actually keeping silent while stalking.: is typically among the most cautious and defensive players, but his thrashing of Pause Unpause in season 3, and effortlessly bringing Nebris to near death at the end of season 7 speak for this. In Season 10, Kurt pulls off one of the most tactically clever moves in UHC, stopping his group being outflanked and then manages to kill two players and seriously injure one to the point where he is killed after two shots from Avidya in about three minutes.
has spawned a catchphrase out of 'Anyone but him!' As he consistently expresses concern (fear?) that he has to fight enemies that he feels are far better than he, such as Guude in Season 6 and Kurtjmac in Season 11. Killed both of them.: MC Gamer ends up surrounded by all of Team Nancy Drew in season 9, and quickly becomes a pincushion.: To MC's credit, he doesn't rage or scream or cry. He just quietly states once and awaits the inevitable. In Season 11, Anderzel versus Guude and his 30+ wolves.
Also in 11, BTC vs Etho which lasted all of 6 seconds. Made even more brutal since it was the final showdown. In Season 17, Nebris's absolute thrashing of Anderz while under the effects of a Notch Apple.

With the Resistance effect along with Regeneration V, the poor viking stood no chance. Nebris: You don't even know what you're missing. Hit me all you like!.: Very few people were expecting to win Season 6. Or BTC to win Season 11.: Not often practiced in any individual videos, but can occur when viewing multiple perspectives simultaneously. For example, in Season 7 Pakratt and MC believe that Kurt and Zisteau are trying to either get the high ground or flank them, when their perspectives reveal that they're actually running for their lives.: As if Kurt's glitchy death in Season 5 wasn't bad enough, in Season 8 his internet outright crashes right before he can ambush Etho.: Seasons 3 and 4a are both decided by only half a heart, while Season 4b is won by the comparatively wider margin of one heart.: Right after Generikb dies in season 8.
A thunderstorm starts up that lasts through the deaths of Mhykol and Doc and went so loud for the next 15 minutes that players at bedrock could hear it. In season 11, a thunderstorm starts moments before Etho kills Generikb. Another thunderstorm starts up just before the first PVP kill of Season 12.
Yet another thunderstorm in Season 14 Episode 6, when Guude is killed by Pause.: Kurt in seasons 5 and 6 with his glitchy wolf-related deaths, plus Doc in Season 8 when he 'suffocates in a wall' thanks to a bug. Pause in Season 11, winner of the two previous seasons, accidentally looks at an Enderman while exploring a cavern, and goes out in the first episode for the first time in UHC history.
How does Arkas go out in season 15? A creeper drops down directly behind him and explodes before Arkas even sees it, instantly killing him. And he was at full health & almost at full iron too. Justdefy in season 5. After caving for several minutes with little trouble, a quick relog finds JD mysteriously dead.
Explanation JD had been lagging for several minutes, as seen by chat messages not appearing and a lack of game sounds. When he relogged, everything suddenly happened at once, apparently leading to a spider dealing enough damage to kill him.: In season 12, Zisteau states that he is one, noting that he is less nervous and frantic when he's had a few bottles. Team Old Yeller' (Generik and Baj) in season 14. Their inebriation seems to cause them a lot of early problems, losing a lot of health. But eventually they find 10 diamonds, enchant, and head to the nether, where Generik gets his very first kill on Pakratt despite Pak's health advantage, thanks to his enchants. However, the fact they had three hearts between them afterwards did not serve them well when they ran into Pause and Arkas.: The contestants must gather food, hunt animals and fight each other to be the last man standing. Viewers enjoy choosing a contestant to cheer for, and follow their point of view on their channel.
There is always much disappointment from fans when a contestant is eliminated.: A rule tacked on for season 11. Because of this, more mobs will spawn underground due to there being no hostile mobs on the surface to hit the server's mob cap, making caving more dangerous this season. This rule was also used in seasons 16 and 17.: In Season 12 jl2579 digs a 1x1x2 hole in the ground while running from a skeleton and Doc jumps in after him, getting both of them stuck. In the process of trying to dig out, Doc hits JL for a total of 4 hearts, leaving him with 4 hearts left. The best part is that one of them was allowed to relog and fix the problem. In Season 18, Vechs decides to start throwing eggs at his team-mates for fun.
Which ends up knocking Coe off the edge of a cliff, costing him half of his health. In UHC 19, Pakratt accidentally kills Sethbling, his teammate, allowing Vechs and BTC to quickly beat him, and also resulting in his first UHC kill. In Season 22, and Jsano spend nearly two episodes stalking multiple teams underground. MC, whilst digging, uncovers someone hiding right next him, swings his sword. And kills Jsano, his team-mate.: The result of Zisteau deciding to head to the center of the map and play Skyblock after failing to find enough diamonds to craft an enchanting table in season 11.
The top of the tower is not only above vertical bow range, but also has lava flowing down the sides.: Anderzel is the first to find Zisteau's tower, and after exchanging taunts for a while, Anderzel pillars up above the top of Zisteau's tower and the two start firing arrows at each other.: Bdubs in Season 4b, hacking up wolves left and right in order to reach Guude and have a proper. Ultimately, there are too many wolves and he's overwhelmed, but not before he makes Guude nearly crap his pants in terror.: Vechs has done this four times with his thumbnails; the first three times, it's been some sort of controversial event. In Season 17, his thumbnail shows him riding a pig with a Carrot on a Stick. He dies when he rides a pig off a cliff, earning the 'When Pigs Fly' achievement. In Season 18, his thumbnail shows an egg in the center. He throws an egg at his teammate Coestar right before the final battle, causing him to fall off a cliff and lose half his health.
Mindcrack Extra Life
In Season 19, his thumbnail shows a Nether landscape. He ends up trapped in the Nether, and has to wait for a long time for Nebris and BTC to rescue him. The controversy? Due to a bug with the UHC plugin, natural health regeneration is on in the Nether, which allows Vechs and BTC to emerge victorious from the final 2v5 battle against SethBling, Pakratt, MC, Anderzel, and Avidya in a Nether fortress. In Season 21, his thumbnail started out as a Notch Apple, but slowly faded to an Ender Pearl over time. Pakratt gets a Notch apple several episodes in. Vechs and Nebris manage to take him out despite this advantage by baiting Pakratt into eating the apple by sending Nebris in, Nebris immediately (well, almost) Ender Pearling out, letting the regen from the apple wear off, and then engaging him.: Zisteau's approach in Season 6.
Mindcrack Server Ip
'I don't care about winning, I just want to destroy as much as possible.' Humorously enough, not only does he wreak havoc on the world, he also makes it to the final four, and might have done better had he not taken a bathroom break at the worst possible moment.: Pause and Etho, despite both being members of Team Canada and do frequent co-ops between them often fight each other. Pause wins every time it happens in a UHC: in season 3, 5, 6, 10, 13 and finally, 15, Pause kills Etho. The other friendly rivalry Pause has is with BdoubleO. In Season 4 & 5, Pause kills BdoubleO. However, in season 7, BdoubleO managed to kill Pause before he burned to death from Pause's fire aspect sword.
A lesser known rivalry is between Etho and Team Canada's other member Vintage Beef. In Season 4b Beef killed Etho, but then in Seasons 5, 6, 8, and 11 Etho killed Beef with Beef barely landing a hit on him.:.: Throughout season 12, the game's internal clock was gradually speeding up, making it so that all time based events are faster than normal, as well as mobs moving faster than they should be, making it difficult to defend against them. At the end of episode 5, it had gotten so bad that the server needed to be restarted. Sethbling had appropriately named his episode 5: 'They've Gone to Plaid'.: Nebris in Season 17. He successfully found enough gold to create a Notch Apple (72 gold ingots, 8 blocks). When he later ate it when fighting Anzerzel, he took absolutely no damage from all the arrows that he was hit with.: This becomes very apparent in Season 6 when the cheerful, bubbly, moutermouthed Anderz turns out to be an incredibly daring spelunker, and an archer to be feared.: In Season 4b, this occurs right before the final showdown in Guude's and BDoubleO's perspectives.: Ultra Hardcore presents a whole new challenge: not only do the contestants not respawn after dying, but you can only regain health through golden apples (which now need ingots instead of nuggets) or health potions. Having a full hunger bar does nothing.: Kurt has one of these almost by name when his wolf saves his life in Season 3.
Zisteau discovering a golden apple in a dungeon chest in season 6.: Kurt in Season 4a when he buys his team time to flank Guude and Pause at the cost of his own life by distracting them.: In season 7, Guude and Bdubs hide their Nether portal by building a large mound of dirt over it. Amazingly this does work several episodes later, with Pause walking right past the portal and failing to notice or even hear it. In season 5, Pakratt builds a mob system in one of the highest traffic points of the map, a village. Nearly everyone who passes by fails to notice that it's there, even while staring directly at it.: In season 10, Avidya very nearly kills Zisteau with a lava bucket, and even comments on how good it would have been to pull off said kill. In season 11, after vacating his tower, Zisteau gets killed while caving by the lava that he himself placed. And in season 14, it almost happened again to him when he tried to kill Etho with a bucket of lava, only surviving because Etho placed some water to defend himself.
Often happens to Kurt as well, who lost seasons 5 & 6 due to his dogs killing him. Happens to Aureylian, to some extent, in season 17.
Aureylian is on top of a villager house when comes up the ladder towards her. Despite having the upper hand from the start, she instead places a bucket of lava. Beef can escape back down the ladder, she can't go anywhere.
While it's Beef that ultimately slays her, the damage she took from the lava didn't help.: Occurs in both Seasons 4a and 4b, first when Guude and Pause kill Kurt but are themselves killed soon after and then when Bdubs nearly defeats Guude but is ultimately overwhelmed by Guude's pack of wolves. In season 3, Baj finally finds a good amount of food after spending most of the season finding no animals besides sheep and failing to grow wheat. He is eliminated shortly after finding it. In season 19, Kurt and Beef are attacked by the team of Pause, Pyro, and MC Gamer. They have a brief moment of celebration after taking down Pause and Pyro, before being ambushed and killed by MC, who they were unaware of.: Kurt gets saddled with this on occasion, as seen when he obsesses over 'resetting his spawn' in Season 3 and complains about how hard it is to get string while walking right past cobwebs in Season 6. In Season 16 he dives at Baj and places lava on him to kill Baj, but it kills Kurt too.: In season 10, BTC freezes the video right before he dies and starts giving one, then stops himself and realizes that he is about to die.: In Season 11, Bdubs narrowly avoids a battle between Nebris and Pyro and is close enough to grab the dead players' items before they despawn.
This includes all the potions and potion making materials Nebris had been gathering, Pyro's enchanting table, and other useful items. By being in the right place.
— 's Harder Than Hard mode is a difficulty level not even intended to be fair. It might be unlocked by beating the game on the hardest fair difficulty; it probably gives some blood-curdling warning when selected. In many games, difficulty settings that are denoted as Harder than hardest often indicate they are not adequately playtested, and the game might be at that setting. Some games get so notorious for these modes that people will forget that normal (and easy) modes exist and only base their opinion on the hardest difficulty modes, even if the normal difficulty is actually pretty sane.
Common names for this include Very Hard, Expert (when it doesn't represent Hard), Super,. Other games give it treatment. and both have 'Crazy' modes unlocked after completion. The former's version is still much easier than the latter's and actually changes things other than the amount of damage the enemies can take and dish out, such as giving bosses additional attacks and changing a jumping puzzle, while the latter focuses more on enemies that take absurd amounts of abuse to kill and who kill you in 1 or 2 hits unless you spend the first 10 hours of gameplay grinding levels on skeletons. Albino 3 vst rapidshare free download.
And to add more insult to injury, you can't even use the you get for beating the mode in a normal game in COD like you can in LOI, making it practically useless., an already really hard game, becomes a nightmare until a certain point if you're playing as Shanoa. As Albus, it's a breeze until you reach the Skeleton Cave, in which you'll probably have a much harder time than Shanoa due to lack of items and the Zombie familiar, which can block fireballs for you.
Let's not even get started on what would happen if you ever decided to play with the Old Axe Armor while stuck at level one in. Luckily, all the HP, MP, and, if they're separate from the MP, Heart upgrades can be found to make life easier and, if you're playing with a character that can change their attacks and armor and use items, things become significantly easier as the game goes on. has 'Simple', 'Regular', and 'Difficult'. As an extra difficulty, it also has 'Masterful' which is Nintendo Hard to the extreme. 'Insanity' manages to top that by making your character a. has standard mode, Mode, and Mode. From Mode is basically Hard Mode, but Spelunker Mode ramps it up so you, enemies are harder to kill, and.
Note With handy invincibility frames, too!. Beat 2 once and you unlock Hard Mode. Beat that, and you unlock Very Hard Mode.
And: where Hard Mode means no Cyber Elves, no charge shot, and you take double damage from everything. has Normal, Hard, and Expert, the last of which fits this to a tee.
The description literally states 'virtually impossible on your own', which in this case means 'if you're playing solo, expect to have to take on about 10-15 difficult enemies in one tiny room and get crushed' Seriously, 20 odd floors of Hunter or Surprise mode on Expert is damn near suicidal, and 25 floors of Rush mode is basically a death wish. Endless also ends up coming under this, since it seems to start off on hard mode difficulty and end up being as tough or even more so than expert by about the 10th floor. has two difficulties above Hard Mode, though they only buff the HP and damage of enemies without giving them new attacks - Hell and Bunny Extinction.
As well, on normal mode or below, you can get a special buff that gives a general stat increase if you die enough times. Not so for Hard, Hell, and Bunny Extinction modes. Still too easy? The Artbook DLC offers the. has Ironbro mode. (Player starts with a random bro and needs to re-unlock more. While they are unlocked faster than usual, each bro that dies is gone in that playthrough.) While this is not too difficult if the player is careful and has luck in unlocks, the game outright states that using Hard difficulty on this mode is simply unfair.
HD has a Hero Mode that makes you take double damage, and the game also supports the Ganondorf, which also causes you to take double damage. But individually, both of these don't qualify for this. Rather, these two modes can stack, allowing you to use the Ganondorf amiibo while in Hero Mode, giving you quadruple damage. You can possibly breeze through the first half of the game, and regular enemies tend to be slow attackers that you have to wait for them to hit you, but later bosses and minibosses like Darknuts can be a real pain.
'Dante Must Die' in the games. 'Heaven Or Hell' from the third game, where, is somewhere between a gimmick mode and Harder Than Hard. 'Hell and Hell,' in the fourth game and, has only and is very much Harder Than Hard.
Of course, if you perfected your style play on Sons on Sparda with no health lost, you, sir, are set.mostly. In the initial US release of DMC3, Easy was equivalent to Japanese!Normal, Normal was equivalent to Japanese!Hard, and US!Hard is possibly the first time that Hard is Harder than Hard. The made the difficulties more in line with the Japanese difficulties, wherein US!Hard was rechristened 'Very Hard'. The of included a new 'Gods Must Die' difficulty, which ratchets the difficulty up to ridiculous levels, even beyond Dante Must Die. In addition to further increasing the amount of damage enemies give and take, every enemy spawns in mode and all consumable items and healing items are disabled.
The Xbox version of has a Very Hard mode, while Black and Sigma added Master Ninja, which was even harder. Ninja Gaiden 2 also features a Master Ninja mode which is, arguably, even harder than Master Ninja in Black and the leaderboard for Master Ninja in Black had less than 1000 people. It's worth noting that the only requirement to be on this leaderboard was to actually complete Master Ninja mode. has a God mode and (in the sequel) a Titan mode.
One section in the latter (the second titan minotaur), which is already hard in normal, becomes a purely luck-based affair. The enemies took more hits and hit harder, you received less orbs, and magic used substantially more magic - the game was not pulling any punches. Its a wonder they didn't try to replace the blades with. God of War III once again trumps God and Titan with the Chaos Difficulty.
It sure says something that the first game's Harder Than Hard difficulty is by now considered the Normal Difficulty. The Super mode in the PS2 version of is only available after completing the Hard setting. has the Infernal difficulty setting, which comes with the considerably stern but sincere warning, 'You are damned.' On this difficulty, enemies and hazards dole out horrific damage, including regular enemies being able to one-shot you from maximum health, and Mana and health fountains giving back pathetic refills. It almost seems as though this mode was intended to be played on, as both it and the Infernal setting are unlocked after beating the game on any of the normal difficulties.: When you beat the game on Normal, you unlock Hard. Hard difficulty increases enemy health and damage taken and drastically changes up the enemy spawns, making tougher enemies spawn earlier.
The first section of the tutorial level has, to give an example. When you beat the game on Hard, you unlock the 'Non-Stop Infinite Climax' difficulty. It's just like Hard, but you don't get through normal means (that's what the 'non-stop' means). In it's just called 'Infinite Climax', since it doesn't disable Witch Time like in the first game. However that doesn't mean it's any easier; if anything, you'll desperately need Witch Time to stand a chance at this difficulty, because it messes with enemy spawns like in the first game. has two such difficulties: Very Hard which changes enemy layouts, changes some enemy tactics on top of the usual hard mode changes (enemies getting more life/attack power, healing items heal less, etc).
Revengeance is similar to Very Hard save for two things: Enemies inflict terrible damage with their attacks, easily killing you in 2-3 blows with a fully upgraded life bar. has Prime difficulty. As it states that 'every trick in the book is required to survive', it's not kidding.
Enemies can now kill you easily in seconds if you are careless. Good luck dodging around all those enemies without dying!.: Sanctuary Battle note or Saint Seiya Senki in Japan has God difficulty. Your Gold Saint with maxed stats that was kiling bosses with two hits and taking a hair worthy of damage from their attacks a few moments ago? Watch as the bosses become powerhouses that will, while, and once their health drops below 50%, activate their 7th Sense and that unless you activate your own 7th Sense (that will consume your Cosmo gauge) you won't be able to get a single hit in.
In a similar vein to the above-mentioned Bayonetta (by ), has 101% Hard, which is similar to Hard in many respects, with stronger enemies coming as early as the prologue with them moving faster and hitting harder. The chief difference though, is that time doesn't slow down at all when drawing a Wonder-Liner, which is how one picks an attack. Hope you can get used to not being safe when preparing an attack quickly. has Hero mode, where the enemies' attack power and HP are nearly double that of Hard difficulty, meaning that even the police bots in the first level can KO Astro in two hits; the Super counter has a maximum of 3, and the effectiveness of Supers is significantly reduced. Parodied in the Flash game Bobulous. The game has four missions; each but the first unlocked after finishing the one before. The first three are: Counter-Attack ('Difficulty: normal'), Eradication ('Difficulty: hard'), and Space Hero ('Difficulty: ').
The final mission is Return Home ('Difficulty: impossible'); when you select it, it is revealed that this mission is just celebration of your victory, and the game corrects the description to 'Difficulty: impossible to lose'. 2 has Very Easy (locked), Easy, Normal, Hard, Hardest, and Mania (also locked).
On Normal, bosses typically only have upwards of three life meters; minibosses on Mania tend to have four. Also, enemies will move very fast and will use their lesser-used, more powerful attacks more often. Unleash the Fury difficulty in.
All enemies do extreme damage, most enemies are immune to instant kills from special rage attacks, and all of your Warriors have the Baseball Furies outfits while the real Furies use the Warrior models. on easy is already. On Samurai difficulty, everything, even zombies, move faster and can almost one-shot you. The sequel, Vampire Smile, has greatly more balanced difficulty. Samurai is still wrist-crackingly difficult, though. features a difficulty system that based on your.
On Easy and Normal modes. On Hard mode, the difficulty scale is set to the highest level and will not decrease by any means. It doesn't help that even on Easy mode, the game is than your typical title., in addition for the standard Easy, Medium, and Hard, has 'Crazy' and.
Completing 's already Normal mode unlocks Dragon mode. Beating that unlocks Double Dragon mode. Conversely, higher money and mithril drops from enemies. Casual players of the original 2049 will usually only see the first three tracks, with the latter two being classified as 'Advanced.' The fifth track, which is unlockable along with the fourth, is classified as 'Extreme,' and is chock full of right-angle turns and other obstacles intended to keep your speed low. The Special Edition has two extra even harder tracks.
The sixth has several hard-to-hit shortcuts that must be unlocked in sequence, and if you screw up anywhere, they can be. The seventh has a lot of high hills with sharp turns along the way. had Bunta Challenge. Objective: Beat a grossly overpowered vehicle. Then beat an even more grossly overpowered vehicle. Then beat a vehicle that will leave you in the dust the instant you make the tiniest error.
And if he wins, you lose points. No wonder Sega discontinued this after 3. Any of the Manufacturer duels.
The single opponent in these races is far more aggressive than in other types of races, and the grass or sand on the sides of the tracks may as well be black holes - once your car goes onto it, it's nearly impossible to even get back on the road, much less retake the lead. The original for SNES had an unlockable Master level. In this mode the most noticeable difference is that the normally laughable 'filler cars' become serious competitors and can actually get first place.
Oh, and certain tracks become with certain cars (seriously, not even tool assisted cheating will help). Likewise, GX has Master difficulty in GP mode, and Very Hard difficulty in Story Mode. Beating all cups on Master unlocks the AX cup, while beating individual Story levels on Very Hard unlocks extra racers, some of whom are some of the best in the game. has an Insane difficulty setting, in which all CPU racers race like they were clones of Sebastian Vettel or of Michael Schumacher, and use effectively ALL of the shortcuts in the racetrack. However, if you play this mode with all driving assists turned off, you get a 125% bonus to the credits you earn after completing the race. Likewise, 6 has Unbeatable difficulty, in which the opponents have near- and those starting in the lead positions can be literally unbeatable. The unlockable Expert difficulty in.
Thought Hard was difficult enough? Then enjoy a difficulty where the AI is very aggresive, brutal with items and knows where every shortcut is. Combine that with tracks like and you will rage A LOT.
And then there's certain World Tour events like the Boost Challenges where you have to do near perfectly to win. In Solo play, it has four standard difficulty levels;, Green, and. However, it has a special difficulty tier: Black, which, unlike previous levels, has one race per scenario. In order to unlock Black-tier races, you must get a Gold medal in every single previous course pertaining to its respective scenario. And it doesn't help that Black-tier races are. Difficulties in games are 50cc (easy), 100cc (normal) and 150cc (hard), with some games adding.
For adds 200cc to the available difficulties, and the other racers pull no punches when playing on 200cc. In, the difficulty above 'Hard' is 'Impossible,' which the manual defines as 'Impossible unless you've had loads of practice or work for Gremlin or Interplay as a game tester.' . The series, the first two games have the following difficulties in the 1 player mode: Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Very Hard. Super Smash Bros Brawl has Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard, and Intense.
Intense is likely a reference to, which had an Intense difficulty for the minigames if you could beat the computer on Very Eard. 3DS and WiiU have 10 difficulty tiers lifted from; the last three are 'Infernal', 'White Hot', and 'Nothing Harder!' . Brawl's mode doesn't let you continue at all, so it's a nightmare on Intense. 3 has Z, ZZ, and ZZZ. These invoke, especially if you're playing in, which loves to.
Mercy be on your soul if you're playing as anyone who can't go beyond a 2nd level transformation and/or if you're up against. Especially the latter two. You'll pretty much need to resort to and pray to God. God help you if you try to tackle this on ZZZ. On this difficulty, everyone has maxed-out stats.
This feat is impossible for you to do because there are seven parameters (each maxing out at 20) and you can only make it to level 100. 3 offers 'Stress Relief', 'Very Easy', 'Easy', 'Normal', 'Moderately Hard', 'Hard', 'Very Hard', and 'Impossible'. has the suitably named Nightmare difficulty. Besides making your enemies hardier, they're now all extra aggressive in their attacks, and in the five on one, will constantly attempt to surround you using making it nigh impossible for you to even attack. Oh, and those? They've remembered that they have and, so now, they can also kill you. Needless to say, your computer-controlled ally is practically useless here and will be dead before you know it.
3 has Easy, Medium, Hard, Very Hard, Ultra Hard, and Extremely Hard. Couple that with the AI in the game. The best part is that the game is pretty much defaulted to Extremely Hard, as difficulty levels only apply to two or three game modes. None of them are Story Mode. games typically have five difficulty levels: Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Very Hard. To make matters worse, as of Mortal Kombat 3, there was the Choose Your Destiny system, where you could choose how many enemies you fought. Selecting the longest roster earned you the taunt 'You Will Never Win!'
. The fighting games are still Touhou games, so they have a Lunatic difficulty setting. The games have Very Hard and Hell difficulty settings, but Score Attack Mode is set to a difficulty harder than Hell. In EXTEND, Score Attack is not as difficult as a new mode, Unlimited Mars, where not only is the AI difficult set to the highest level, but every singe enemy is an. has Adventurer, Warrior, Barbarian, and Warlord. Thanks to and the overbearing AI, even the Adventurer (the easiest difficulty) feels like a hard mode.
Drives the knife even further in by making the endings only appear in the hardest difficulties. In most games, there has been a Very Hard mode. Dead Or Alive 4 even lacked an easy mode. However, Dead or Alive 5 takes this to a new level with its difficulties being: Rookie, Easy, Normal, Hard, Champ, Master, True Fighter, and Legend. Good luck clearing the survival courses on those last 4 difficulties. (the 2013 one) has Noob, Easy, Medium, Hard, Killer, and Kyle difficulties, the last of which is named after one of the games' AI designers. Enemies on Kyle can basically combo/counter break you whenever they feel like it, make almost no mistakes, have amazing reads, and apparently learn how you play and adapt around that.
To top it off, the of the arcade mode always fights at Kyle difficulty. The video game adaptation of gives us the Jedi difficulty setting, which turns the whole game into an endurance test of. Most enemy attacks (except from Droid enemies) will kill you in two or three hits, and health and ammo is much more scarce and their placement is changed around. Doesn't even begin to describe the hair pulling insanity of this mode—-basically, you have to keep on your toes at all times and know the levels inside and out so you can anticipate every attack that comes your way—one or two slip ups anywhere, and you're done for.
You'll struggle to even get past the first two stages on this setting. Oh, and you only get three lives, and collecting Challenge Points will barely net you even one or two extra lives in this mode., Dash's own laser pistol does much more damage as well (it can kill Imperial Troopers in one hit when the laser pistol is fully charged) so you can have some fighting chance of winning in this mode.:. The 'Heroic' and 'Legendary' levels in every game, with the versions in described by as being 'harder than any other Halo game.' (Heck, the Fuel Rod Shades, Revenants, Banshees, and Ghosts in 'Pillar of Autumn' can already be an utter pain just on Normal.).
This all however is put to the ground as 'novice' stuff by the true hardcore of the hardcore of the community. The unnamed, unofficial, yet definitely intentionally programmed to be damned hard to do is the 'Mythic' difficulty (otherwise known as 'LASO', or 'Legendary: All Skulls On'). It involves turning on all skulls in the game. Each skull basically turns up the difficulty in distinct ways by one level in terms of forcing the player to modify their playstyle in order to succeed, and THERE ARE MORE THAN 12 SKULLS.
Even the ones that are basically 'fun' skulls can still prove fatal if not accounted for, as they do still modify the game. The 'Iron' skull even causes you to restart the entire level after dying once if you're playing solo, and some skulls make particularly deadly combinations, such as 'Thunderstorm' (which causes all enemy units in the game to rank up) and 'Mythic' (which just gives a straight-forward 100% health bonus to the already-hard-to-kill high-ranking enemies).
There is an entire community basically made to conquer this hell. Usually less than 100 people in the entire world accomplish the feat, and that's with -! To go at it alone is virtual suicide. Bungie even based the Reach weekly challenges around completing levels Solo, Legendary, All Skulls On. Even from the start, the series had the oath of the vidmaster, essentially a commitment to play the game as hard as possible. Not only do you only play the hardest difficulty, appropriately named as Total Carnage, but you are also tasked with punching every switch note Switches would also trigger when shot with certain guns, and some switches cannot be reached, so must be shot.
(which can often lead to problems), firing grenades whenever they were available, running by holding a key other than Caps Lock (turning on Always Run in the later Open-Source releases probably counts as the same thing), and killing all (who would attack you after a few already died). Needless to say, likes making hard games harder. 'Nightmare!' Cheat codes are disabled, monsters are relentless in attacking, enemy projectiles fly faster, a certain enemy type is twice as fast, and. The only plus is that you get double ammo from. The fact that the game asks you whether you really want to play on it or not when you select it is telling.
There was once a fan-made difficulty mod that's even harder called 'Pray to God.' It's just like Nightmare, but you have no weapons other than your pistol!. 'Nightmare!' Was one of the earliest incidents of a difficulty level released with the announced caveat that it was not fully playtested, ergo came with no guarantees that it was fair, or the game was winnable on this level. Many a fanatic player, however, has succeeded in doing so.
According to the, Nightmare difficulty was made specifically so that it would be impossible to finish. It is a testament to the dedication/lack of salsa of the gamer community that there are competitions, complete with titles awarded to players who can do just that. Particularly annoying is Doom 1 EP 4, where whole levels can be different depending on what difficulty you're playing as because items are moved around depending on difficulty. Naturally, Nightmare makes these as hard to get as possible.
Source ports can separate the two parameters of 'Nightmare!' Into 'fast monsters', that makes the mooks vicious, and 'respawning enemies', that is self-explanatory. Those paramenters can be applied regardless of difficulty, so you can customize your gameplay to have, for example, only a few but nasty enemies ( with fast monsters), Ultra-Violence with more aggressive demons, Bring 'Em On! That you have to run through because of your non-permanent kills chasing you. Or if you're into a, you can play Ultra-Violence with both parameters enabled, so you emulate 'Nightmare!' Without the double ammo pickups. 's Nightmare mode has enemies doing about 3.5 times as much damage as normal, allowing them to kill you in less than a dozen hits or so.
Additionally, you also constantly lose health every couple of seconds. To balance this out, your start out with the Soul Cube, which allows you to steal health from enemies. Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil's Nightmare difficult goes beyond Harder Than Hard and into the realm of truly insane.
Just like in regular Doom 3, you constantly lose health throughout the game. Unlike Doom 3, you don't have the Soul Cube around to steal health from enemies. As a result, you pretty much spend the entire game as a, with death being instant if you ever take a single hit from any enemy. takes this with Ultra-Nightmare. It's just like Nightmare, except you have; if you die, your save file is deleted and a small marker is placed showing how far you got if you're playing online.
It's rather telling that most of the markers you find will be in the very first combat arena - a mere imp can kill you in a single melee attack if you don't have armor., being a clone, had a Harder Than Hard mode where in addition to being stronger, any enemy who left a corpse (basically, who wasn't killed by an explosion, the shrink or freeze weapons, or SQUISH!' D) would respawn, including the clones of the first episode's boss who, in addition to being the strongest enemy in the game, would always leave a corpse even if you did blow him up, forcing you to waste another grenade or rocket to get rid of it. 's Harder Than Hard mode took advantage of the game's in-game difficulty selection (in other words, a ), with the 'Nightmare' difficulty only accessible through a secret hidden inside a magical pond. Then again, unlike Doom or many other examples here, the Quake Nightmare difficulty has few player handicaps and is in fact only slightly less manageable than Hard. 's Hard+ mode was even more well hidden, accessible only through the console. Unlike the first Quake, this one is significantly tougher than the 'normal' Hard difficulty. Enemies are faster and, have higher HP, their weapons deal much more damage, and they are.
has its Insane difficulty. The enemies have learned how to fire faster than you, dodge better than you, flank better than you, thus nearly all the enemies are, especially the in the second game, and all the powerups that are so vital to your survival are now pathetically ineffective.
As an added bonus, your weapons take much more energy to use than normal, so you can easily run out of ammunition. And on the second game's Insane, the matcens are inexhaustible. In the PSX games, the Ace and Insane difficulties are hidden and must be unlocked via code. Due to the when there are a lot of enemies on screen, and the even faster speed of projectiles such as missiles, Insane may be literally unbeatable here.
has Normal (more like Easy), Veteran and Hypermode, unlocked after beating it once. The other two Prime games are similar. Making your way through the game on the hardest is tougher than normal. Enemies become much smarter (Space Pirates are much more likely to gun you down from a distance and dodge your fire for example), they soak up much more damage and Samus herself takes much more damage from pretty much everything. The difficulty really spikes on final bosses though, especially Prime 3's final boss.
has Tourist ('for non-FPS players'), Easy ('for non-experienced FPS players'), Normal ('for experienced FPS players'), Hard ('for experienced Serious Sam players'), and Serious ('Are you serious?' Beating the game unlocks Mental difficulty ('You can't be serious!' ), which is as advertised because all the enemies are friggin invisible!!!. The description for 's 'Veteran' difficulty is 'You will not survive'.
They're not kidding. Even worse in the expansion United Offensive, due to the sheer number of enemy soldiers at points. Not to mention 's Veteran, where enemies killed frequently hold out to draw their pistol and two-shot you. Staying out of cover for more than two seconds is entirely suicidal. Speaking of cover, the enemies don't like when they can't shoot you.
Their solution is to herd you from your safe hiding place with LOTS of grenades. There are many points where you're given the choice between getting fragged or getting ripped up by a machine gun. This was particularly aggravating in 'World at War', by Treyarch.
In that game, if you didn't proceed forward fast enough, the game would try to get you to move by spawning grenades near you, even if you already killed all the enemies in the level. They came more frequently on harder difficulty levels. 's Veteran is available to be picked in Special Ops. No matter the implications of this, In addition, Special Ops stays the same difficulty-wise regardless of if you play solo, or two-player coop. Trying to play Veteran Special Ops without a second player is akin to bungee jumping without a bungee cord. To sum up how the difficulty feels during gameplay, here are the basics:. On Recruit, the game is more or less a gritty action film.
Miss a lot, and their rounds aren't all that damaging. Timed objectives give out substantially more time. The number of enemies is dramatically reduced.
Basically, it's very easy to do a no-death run. On Regular, the game offers a standard level of challenge and you will likely die a few times, but most situations can be won in a few tries with enough firepower and cover. So long as you don't make a habit of disregarding cover, then the game isn't all that hard. On Hardened, the game becomes a real challenge. There are more enemies, they hit more frequently, and can kill you in a few hits. You may need to get creative in how you deal with situations.
The game is fair, so except for very few occasions, the game is not a.
